Camera Orientation

How a camera works: When you are taking a picture, the light passes through the lens and reflects off a mirror so that you can see the image. When you are ready to take a picture, you click the button and the mirror lifts momentarily. This allows the image to save itself to your film.  How its different from a 35mm film load camera: This camera has a shutter that holds out the light until you are ready to take a picture. When you do, the shutter opens and focuses the light onto a film. The light is imprinted on the film and in order to see the picture it has to be soaked in a special chemical.  Questions 1. Rule of Thirds - Essentially, you divide up the picture into three horizontal and vertical sections. This is most commonly used to center your photo of to off center it for a more interesting photo. 2. When you have a long shutter speed, more motion is captured. Meaning you have to stay still. How Photography can Change the World Photography has a main role in the way that we think, there are three major ways it can affect the world. Major Global Events There is a lot of contention and war that happens throughout the world every day, but a lot of it we are oblivious to. A few photographers made an effort to show what really goes on in places like third world countries, and it has increased awareness of global issues. Some of these issues are: 1. The Vietnam War This picture is depicting the crisis in Vietnam as civilians and soldiers are escaping after a Napalm bomb strike. After one picture of a girl running for her life went viral, it created public outrage and soon the war in Vietnam came to a halt. 2. Syrian refugees Pictures of Syrian Refugees have helped people in other countries to realize that there are families like us in that position.
